The Changing Faces of Facebook

I have always said that I would never be on Facebook. I had a misconception about Facebook, because my children are all excited about this social networking site. I felt as though I was too mature for a Facebook page. After a brief informational on what Facebook is, I may actually join Facebook. There are people from my past that I have lost contact with, some of whom I would like to reconnect. In the area of business, I would only use Facebook to locate people. Therefore, I believe Facebook is good for social networking. However, Facebook can be good for a business because photos can be accessed along with the type of business the individual is advertising. Hairstylist can take photos of hair styles they have created and they can be posted for others to view. This can be a great way of getting new business. But I think it may also depend on the nature of the business. As for me I will limit my Facebook page strictly for social networking. A view into Facebook shows that the faces are truly changing. It is no longer limited to college students, but students in high school, and adults have joined this growing trend of Facebook.

Online Advertising with Adwords

Blogging about online advertising has really peaked my interest. A research of the topic on Adwords has provided insight how many businesses can increase their potential income by simply placing ads online. Online advertising is said to be one of two main sources for Google. Although Google leads in the search engine industry, we must not forget Ask, MSN, Yahoo, or any other search engines. All of the search engine industry leaders have some type of advertising program. We should also view the AdSense program. Although Adwords is not FREE, it is so inexpensive as compared to other forms of advertising it can be considered FREE. A fantastic feature for an Adword advertiser is the ability to track visitors using Google Analytics which is FREE. As a business entreprenuer you have the ability to refine Adwords, and continuously make changes to benefit your company. As you can see, by using Google features, you can integrate Adwords with other Google applications. Using the Google Suite of products, a business can be successful and profitable for a minimal cost. After all many of the Google products are FREE. As this blog on Adwords is concluded encourage other small business owners to give it a try and watch their income increase.

The Low Price of Online Advertising

We last blogged about how Google Adwords could save businesses big bucks. However, we have not said how much Adwords advertising really cost. When you search the web you will notice ads streaming across the top, on the side, while some will float on the bottom of the web page. Some advertisements will play music. Web advertising has taken more of an “in your face” approach. Because of today’s econmomical situation, many businesses have been driven to web advertising because of its low cost. One form of online advertising is banner advertising which costs approximately 30 cents to 50 cents per thousand impression. Some advertising costs are less. It depends upon the Website how much the space will costs. Therefore, a more popular Website can charge substantially more. It is a belief that sidebar advertising has a greater impact, because it is two to three times larger than a banner ad. Also, a sidebar ad cannot be scrolled off of the screen like a banner ad. Again the sidebar ad is “in your face”. We should also remember that using the right keywords attract the targeted audience for the ad. Online advertising is much less expensive than advertising in a magazine.
